A Provider Friendly Program for Florida

MCNA Dental is a leading dental benefit management company committed to providing high quality services to state agencies and managed care organizations for their Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP members. We serve over 4 million children and adults with the singular mission of improving their general health by ensuring access to quality dental care.

On June 28, 2018, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration announced its Intent to Award a Contract to MCNA Dental to administer the Florida Medicaid Dental Health Program. MCNA will be one of the dental plan administrators that will serve the children and adults enrolled throughout the state, beginning with a phased roll out on December 1, 2018.

Hurricane Ian Disaster Grace Period

Following the landfall of Hurricane Ian, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a major disaster declaration for multiple Florida counties affected by the storm (DR-4673-FL). MCNA has implemented a claims exception process and removed prior authorization requirements to ensure our Florida Medicaid members maintain access to the care they need.

2022 Conforming Amendment Effective 10/1/2022

The State of Florida adopted the Freedom First budget for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2022-2023, which provides specific funding to the Agency for Health Care Administration for the sole purpose of increasing the minimum wage for employees of Medicaid providers to at least fifteen dollars ($15.00) an hour. Please see the 2022 Conforming Amendment describing new requirements. Your fee schedule will be updated to reflect the new increase for this purpose. This 2022 Confirming Amendment is effective as of October 1, 2022. Please reach out to Provider Relations at fl_pr_dept@mcna.net with any questions or concerns.

How do I sign up with MCNA?

What is MCNA Dental’s payor ID for electronic submission of claims and pre-authorization requests using a third-party clearinghouse?

MCNA’s payor ID is 65030.

If a member is in active treatment during the transition to the Florida Medicaid Statewide Dental Health Program, will MCNA honor continuation of their care?

MCNA will allow members who are in active treatment through coverage with other dental insurance carriers under Florida Medicaid to continue care with their current dental provider for up to 180 days for non-orthodontic related services. Continuation of care for orthodontia will be covered until the treatment is completed. Please call MCNA’s Provider Hotline for more information.

  • Providers will be paid. Providers should continue providing any services that were previously authorized, regardless of whether the provider is participating in the plan’s network. Plans must pay for previously authorized services for up to 60 days after the roll-out date in each region, and must pay providers at the rate previously received for up to 30 days.
  • Providers will be paid promptly. During the continuity of care period, plans are required to follow all timely claims payment contractual requirements. The Agency will monitor complaints to ensure that any issues with delays in payment are resolved.

Is there a special application to access MCNA’s Provider Portal?

No, you do not need to complete a special application to access the Provider Portal. Once you have successfully completed MCNA’s credentialing process and are an active provider in our network, you automatically qualify for a free account on our Provider Portal and all of the benefits it entails! All you need to do is visit MCNA’s Provider Portal at http://portal.mcna.net and complete the simple process of validating your information, then you are ready to go!
